Students for Sensible Drug Policy Conference March 29-31 Illinois

Students for Sensible Drug Policy

Students for Sensible Drug Policy Conference will bring more than 400 student members, alumni, and supporters to the Chicago area from March 29-31 for our annual gathering featuring:

  • Educational programming. The core conference program will include prominent keynote speakers and panels addressing the hottest topics in policy, harm reduction, leadership, organizing, and advocacy.
  • Awards Ceremony + Dance Party. SSDP recognizes outstanding network members with an annual awards ceremony followed by a dance party.
  • Student Congress. Our annual student board member election and governing resolution process invites all SSDP members to participate in defining their SSDP.
  • And more. An alumni gathering, meetups, networking meals, and other events offer nearly non-stop opportunities to connect with advocates and leaders of the drug policy reform movement!

Hotel booking is available now at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel and Conference Center through this link. You will be redirected and sometimes the group code does not auto-populate. It’s very important that you make sure that “PGF” appears in the “Group Code” box when selecting your room. If it does not automatically appear, you will need to enter it yourself.

The special room rate will be available until March 6 or until the group block is sold out, whichever comes first. Please book your room only through this link, with our group code “PGF”, and not via phone or third-party websites.

It is strongly recommended that you book your flight to/from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). It is a 5-minute drive from the conference venue, and the hotel provides a free shuttle. By comparison, Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) is a 45-minute drive, or 90 minutes on public transit, away from the conference venue, and you will be responsible for arranging for and paying for that ground transportation.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy: MISSION AND VALUES

Students for Sensible Drug PolicyStudents for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) is the only international network of students dedicated to ending the war on drugs. At its heart, SSDP is a grassroots organization, led by a student-run Board of Directors. We create change by bringing young people together and creating safe spaces for students of all political and ideological stripes to have honest conversations about drugs and drug policy. Founded in 1998, SSDP is comprised of thousands of members at hundreds of campuses in countries around the globe.

Students for Sensible Drug Policy: MISSION STATEMENT

Students for Sensible Drug Policy is an international grassroots network of students who are concerned about the impact of drug misuse on our communities, but who also know that the “War on Drugs” is failing our generation and our society.

SSDP mobilizes and empowers young people to participate in the political process, pushing for sensible policies to achieve a safer and more just future. SSDP does this while fighting back against counterproductive policies – in particular, those that directly harm students and youth.
